About the property: The Arizona Biltmore, located in Phoenix, Arizona, is a luxury resort known as the "Jewel of the Desert." Opened in 1929, this iconic 39-acre property underwent a $150 million restoration, reopening in 2021 to offer over 700 rooms, more than 200,000 square feet of banquet space, nine food and beverage outlets including restaurants, bars, poolside bars and a gelato shop, a luxury spa, and seven pools. Role Overview: The Banquet Cook II at Arizona Biltmore plays a critical role in supporting the culinary operations by maintaining preparation standards, producing high-quality food items, and ensuring consistency across various kitchen stations including meats, fish, vegetables, bread products, sauces, and stocks. Reporting to the culinary leadership under the guidance of Executive Chef Andrew Newberg, whose Michelin-Starred background drives innovation and excellence, the cook helps uphold a culture of quality, sustainability, and community involvement within a dynamic culinary team.

This role requires full-time availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The Banquet Cook II must prepare food according to standard recipes and guest specifications, ensure the use of quality ingredients, maintain sanitary conditions by adhering to health regulations, manage inventory by preparing requisitions, and work collaboratively within the team to maintain consistency and service standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of cooking experience in a professional, fast-paced kitchen
  • Maricopa County Food Handler Card
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety
  • Ability to read and follow recipes accurately
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an apprenticeship or accredited culinary school, preferred
  • At least two years of cooking experience in a professional, fast-paced kitchen
  • Prior hotel/resort experience, preferred
  • Upscale/luxury dining experience, preferred
  • Maricopa County Food Handler Card
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification, preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest
  • Visually inspect, select and use only food items ideal for cooking in preparation of all menu items
  • Maintain consistency and work as a team
  • Check and control the proper storage of product, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality
  • Keep all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with Health department regulations
  • Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production
  • Read and employ math skills to follow recipes
