The West Palm Beach Marriott is a distinguished hotel located at 1001 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, Florida. As part of the globally recognized Marriott International portfolio, this establishment prides itself on providing exceptional hospitality experiences to guests. Marriott International is known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and the professional development of its employees. The West Palm Beach Marriott is no exception, offering a vibrant and supportive work environment where associates can thrive and contribute to delivering outstanding service in the food and beverage sector. The hotel is situated in a prime location that caters to a diverse clientele, including business travelers, vacationers, and event attendees, making it a bustling hub of activity and opportunity within the hospitality industry.

This role is a full-time, non-management position within the food and beverage and culinary category, with a pay rate of $19.00 per hour. Culinary associates at the West Palm Beach Marriott receive unique career development opportunities through a partnership with the Rouxbe Cooking School, an online culinary training platform. This collaboration enables associates of all culinary skill levels to access a wide range of engaging, self-paced lessons and training curricula designed to enhance their culinary knowledge and skills. These lessons are practical and visually appealing, equipping team members with knowledge they can directly apply to their daily responsibilities in food preparation and presentation.

The primary responsibilities of this culinary associate include preparing banquet plates and platter presentations, operating action stations for banquets or buffets, carving buffet meats as requested by guests, and ensuring adequate stock at buffet and banquet stations. Associates will be skilled in the operation of various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare a diverse range of foods. Preparation tasks also encompass ingredient preparation such as portioning, chopping, storing food, washing and peeling fruits and vegetables, and adhering strictly to recipes and quality standards. An essential function of the role is maintaining sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen environment, including washing and disinfecting all cooking areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.

This role demands attention to safety, requiring associates to follow all company and safety procedures meticulously. Associates are expected to report any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions promptly. The role involves physical activity including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Culinary associates must also maintain a clean and professional appearance, communicate clearly and professionally within the team, and support collective goals ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Marriott International champions diversity and inclusion, fostering a workplace where associates' unique backgrounds are embraced and celebrated. The West Palm Beach Marriott embodies this principle, promoting equal employment opportunity regardless of disability, veteran status, or any other protected status. Marriott's commitment to hospitality excellence is reflected not only in guest services but also in nurturing a collaborative and supportive team environment where associates can develop their careers and personal growth.
