With a strong emphasis on employee well-being, professional development, and diverse inclusion, Hyatt stands as a preferred employer in the hotel industry. Located in the vibrant downtown area of Tempe, Arizona, the Hyatt hotel offers a dynamic work environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally. At the heart of Hyatt’s ethos is the commitment to treating colleagues like family and valuing their contributions, ensuring that every team member feels empowered and respected. The company’s core values include empathy, integrity, respect, inclusion, experimentation, and wellbeing, which guide every facet of its operations and culture.

This role is for a part-time, on-call mid-level cook at Hyatt’s Tempe location. The ideal candidate for this role will possess a culinary degree or have relevant hotel cooking experience, ideally with at least two years of line cooking expertise. As a mid-level cook, candidates are expected to have solid communication skills and a professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures. They will be required to work independently on single stations within the kitchen, though some supervision and training will still be provided to ensure quality standards are met.

In this fast-paced and dynamic role, the cook will be instrumental in preparing high-quality dishes that meet Hyatt’s esteemed culinary standards. This involves a thorough understanding of basic cooking techniques as well as the ability to adapt and respond to the needs of guests and the kitchen team effectively. Employees in this role benefit from extensive training opportunities and the chance to develop their culinary skills further in a supportive environment. Hyatt’s commitment to creating a culture of care extends to its part-time and on-call staff, ensuring that everyone has access to essential benefits including paid vacation and sick leave, medical health care, and professional development resources.

Working at Hyatt Tempe offers more than just a job; it provides a career path within an internationally respected brand. Employees enjoy perks such as free uniforms, covered parking, and discounted or complimentary stays at Hyatt locations worldwide, supporting a wholesome work-life balance.
