Job Description

As a Banquet Cook at Catering by Design, your role is vital in ensuring high-quality food preparation and flawless execution of banquet and catering events. You will be deeply involved in the culinary operations, working within a clean, organized kitchen to prepare fresh meals according to precise recipes and specifications. This position requires proficiency in various cooking stations such as grill, saute, oven, and pantry preparation, highlighting versatility and strong kitchen skills. Attention to detail is crucial, as you will follow recipe guidelines, adhere to portion and plating standards, and ensure food is properly labeled, dated, rotated, and stored to maintain quality and safety. Maintaining a clean and well-stocked station is essential to support smooth service operations during high-volume catering events. The role also demands a strong commitment to food safety and hygiene standards, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with team members to provide seamless service during busy events. Job Requirements

  • Prior kitchen, cooking, or hospitality experience preferred
  • ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • ability to lift and carry items as needed
  • ability to work in a hot, busy kitchen
  • non-slip shoes recommended
  • ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
  • requires walking, sitting, and standing to a significant degree, reaching, handling, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing, and smelling
  • lifting up to 100 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying or transporting of food, objects, or equipment weighing up to 75 lbs
