This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $25 to $28 based on work experience. The Banquet Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and execution for banquet events, ensuring consistency, flavor, and presentation meet the highest standards. This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and exhibits strong leadership skills to coordinate with various departments for smooth event execution. The chef will take the lead on tastings, working closely with clients and the Executive Chef to develop and refine menus that showcase culinary creativity and cater to guest preferences. Proper storage, food safety, kitchen sanitation, and equipment maintenance are critical components of this leadership role. Additionally, the Banquet Chef will manage inventory, control costs through accurate recipe documentation and production forecasts, and support a positive, efficient working atmosphere among kitchen and front-of-house staff. Staying updated with industry trends and innovative cuisine styles is essential to continually enhance the banquet offerings. Job Requirements

  • Degree or certificate in Culinary Arts
  • minimum 5 years of experience as a chef
  • at least 2 years in a supervisory role or equivalent combination of education and kitchen leadership experience
  • guest-focused leadership with genuine care, strong communication, and the ability to build meaningful connections
  • active listening and awareness of guest and team needs including nonverbal cues
  • adaptability and attention to detail
  • ability to excel in a fast-paced, demanding environment including long hours and workweeks

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook banquet menus for events of all sizes, ensuring consistency, flavor, and presentation
  • lead all tastings, collaborating with clients and the Executive Chef to refine menus and showcase culinary creativity
  • maintain strong communication with all hotel departments to support seamless event execution
  • oversee proper storage, security, and rotation of food and beverage items to minimize waste
  • ensure all kitchen equipment and work areas remain clean, safe, and fully operational
  • assist with event planning and ensure the kitchen is fully prepared for banquets, private dining, and large functions
  • complete production plans, forecasts, and departmental reports
  • maintain accurate costing, recipes, and documentation for all dishes
  • support a positive, efficient working environment across both back-of-house and front-of-house teams
  • stay current with industry trends, menu design, and innovative cuisine
