Job Description

This opportunity is with a dynamic event catering company known for delivering exceptional culinary experiences in a variety of settings. The company specializes in catering to events ranging from corporate gatherings and weddings to large social celebrations, ensuring that every dish served meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. As a company that places strong emphasis on professionalism, teamwork, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, the establishment prides itself on a positive work environment that values each team member's contributions and encourages continuous improvement.

The position available is a multi-functional culinary role focused on the execution of food preparation, cooking, and plating tasks to ensure timely delivery and outstanding quality of dishes. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can follow established timelines and recipes while working collaboratively with a team. This is a part-time, on-call position that offers flexibility in scheduling, especially suited for those who thrive in fast-paced, seasonal environments. The work schedule varies based on event bookings with the busiest season running from April through November, and may sometimes demand extended hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

In this role, the individual will be expected to coordinate with event managers to align meal preparation with event timelines and assist in supervising utility staff. A strong commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation is crucial, as the role includes responsibilities for basic kitchen maintenance and operations. The candidate will also need to promptly report any equipment or food quality issues to the Executive Chef to ensure seamless kitchen operations. Given the company’s size and event-driven nature, flexibility, communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure are valued traits.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least two years of kitchen experience who has a passion for culinary arts and wants to be part of a team that delivers memorable dining experiences. The role demands physical stamina and the ability to work in a hot, humid, and sometimes noisy kitchen environment. Safety is paramount, and employees must comply with all food safety regulations and company protocols. Certification such as ServSafe is a requirement to ensure all health standards are consistently met.

The compensation for this role reflects its part-time, on-call nature and is commensurate with experience and skills. Employees receive training in company standards and are encouraged to contribute ideas that enhance the overall operation. The company supports a collaborative culture where each team member contributes to upholding the SEG code of ethics and operational excellence.
