Job Description

Northampton Country Club is a distinguished medium-sized private club known for its exceptional hospitality and dedication to providing an outstanding dining experience. Situated in a vibrant community, the club operates its banquet facility six days a week throughout the year, offering members and guests a variety of dining options including upscale fine dining, casual meals, and convenient grab-and-go service. The club hosts a diverse range of events such as elegant weddings, charity galas, fundraisers, birthday celebrations, golf tournaments, business meetings, and numerous other social and corporate gatherings. This diverse portfolio of events demands a highly adaptable and skilled back of house team that prides itself on excellence, attention to detail, and seamless service.

The Back of House team at Northampton Country Club plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards the club is renowned for. They are responsible for supporting the culinary operations by preparing ingredients, setting up stations, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations, and assisting the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in executing the overall dining experience. Members of this team work behind the scenes to guarantee that every meal served meets the club’s stringent presentation and quality standards. This position provides an excellent opportunity for dedicated individuals passionate about hospitality and culinary arts to grow their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in banquet or food service preferred
  • ability to work six days a week
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to follow directions
  • physical stamina to stand for extended periods
  • basic understanding of food safety practices

Job Qualifications

  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • prior experience in a similar role preferred
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • good communication skills

  • knowledge of health and safety standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare all required items for service
  • set up service units with needed items
  • serve items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards
  • notify Sous Chef of expected shortages
  • ensure assigned workspace and equipment are clean and sanitary
  • set up, maintain and break down assigned station
  • requisition items needed to produce menu items
  • adhere to state and local health and safety regulations
  • assist with other duties as instructed by the Sous Chef
