Operating throughout Central Florida, Second Harvest plays a critical role in securing and distributing food and grocery products to approximately 550 local nonprofit feeding programs, including food pantries, soup kitchens, women's shelters, senior centers, daycare centers, and Kids Cafes. With the support of food and financial donors, volunteers, and a dedicated community, Second Harvest distributes enough food to provide 76 million meals annually, feeding 66,000 people each day. Additionally, Second Harvest runs a notable 16-week culinary training program designed to teach foodservice-based technical, life, and employability skills to economically challenged adults, thereby equipping them with valuable career tools for long-term success. The Food Service and Catering Department at Second Harvest supports the organization's mission by delivering high-quality meal service, catering, and food production services to internal programs, community partners, and external clients. The department prioritizes operational excellence, food safety, customer service, and mission-driven hospitality while maintaining efficient labor management, cost controls, and consistent service standards. Staff collaborate across production, culinary, sales, and event operations to ensure professional, reliable, and superior food service experiences.

This position requires keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, strict adherence to food safety protocols, and the ability to efficiently manage operations in a fast-paced environment.

The work schedule is dynamic and may vary according to event bookings and operational needs.
