Job Description
Legends Global is a renowned leader in managing privately operated public assembly facilities, recognized for delivering outstanding service and creating memorable experiences in prestigious venues across the United States. With its established reputation in the event and hospitality industry, Legends Global focuses on excellence in service, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction. The company prides itself on fostering professional, inclusive, and dynamic work environments, supporting diversity, and encouraging individuals from various backgrounds to contribute to its success. Among the many venues under its management, Legends Global operates the Oklahoma City Convention Center, a popular hub for large-scale events, conventions, and banquets, offering state-of-the-art facilities and premium services to clients and guests.
The role available is a Part-Time Banquet Captain position at the Oklahoma City Convention Center, designed for candidates seeking to work approximately 20-25 hours per week. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of banquet services during events, maintaining high standards of food service and guest satisfaction. The Banquet Captain’s primary responsibility involves supervising and coordinating the activities of banquet servers to guarantee timely and efficient food service. This role requires continuous communication with the event host, or on-site contact, to monitor the event’s progress and promptly address any issues, thereby maximizing guest satisfaction levels.
A successful Banquet Captain at Legends Global is a natural leader who motivates their team, resolves conflicts efficiently, and consistently works to exceed guest expectations. Responsibilities also include collaborating with the Banquet Manager and Chef on Duty to review event details such as menus, timing, and special requests, ensuring that all aspects of the event proceed as planned. The Banquet Captain oversees the setup and cleanliness of function spaces, conducts pre-shift briefings with staff, and manages consumption tracking and closing duties. This position demands attention to detail, excellent communication skills in English, and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Candidates for this role should be comfortable working flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and have previous banquet service or supervisory experience. Physical capability to carry out tasks involving lifting up to 20 pounds, continuous standing, walking, and bending is essential. A professional appearance and positive attitude are also imperative to represent Legends Global’s high standard of service. The position offers an engaging work environment with opportunities to develop leadership skills in the hospitality sector, alongside the chance to work in a fast-paced but rewarding setting at a prominent venue such as the Oklahoma City Convention Center.
