Currently, Ithaka Hospitality Partners is seeking a Banquet Captain to join their Food & Beverage team at the Elevation Convening Center & Hotel. This pivotal role is essential in leading banquet service operations to ensure every event meets the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction. The Banquet Captain is responsible for supervising banquet service staff, coordinating event setup, and overseeing smooth food and beverage service. Working closely with the Banquet Manager and culinary staff, the Banquet Captain plays a critical role in executing flawless events, ranging from corporate functions to festive celebrations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience as banquet captain or food and beverage supervisor
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Capacity to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of liquor laws and safety procedures
Job Qualifications

- At least 2 years of experience as a banquet captain or food and beverage supervisor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to memorize and promote a variety of menu items
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities
- Knowledge of food service safety and sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Supervise banquet service staff during events
- Coordinate efficient event setup and food and beverage service
- Manage banquet liquor inventory and issuance to bartenders
- Present banquet checks to guests and handle payments
- Perform assigned side work such as restocking supplies and replenishing condiments
- Enforce compliance with state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations
- Support Banquet Housemen with setup, service, and clean-up activities
- Order supplies and linens from Purchasing and Housekeeping departments
- Assist servers and captains with event execution according to event orders
- Greet and seat guests and present menus and wine lists
- Compile and balance cash receipts at shift end
- Perform financial duties including cash handling and payroll
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to health standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
