Job Description

The Hilton Garden Inn - Epic Central is proud to introduce the brand-new Grand Prairie Events Center, a premier venue designed to host a wide array of events including receptions, meetings, trainings, and reunions. This state-of-the-art facility plays a pivotal role in showcasing the hotel's capacity to deliver exceptional experiences. At the heart of this exciting expansion is the Banquet Captain role, an essential position dedicated to leading and supervising banquet staff to ensure flawless execution of all events. The Banquet Captain works closely with the Banquet Manager to coordinate food and beverage service, ensuring every guest’s needs are met with professionalism and care. In this role, the Banquet Captain is responsible for motivating and directing a team, ensuring all standards of quality are upheld, and personally providing exceptional guest service. Responsibilities extend from greeting guests to overseeing event setup, execution, and clean-up. The Banquet Captain plays a vital role in communication with guests concerning menu inquiries and assists in the delivery of food and beverages during peak periods. Training and mentoring team members to serve plated and reception-style meals is also a key component of the position.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous banquet or food service experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Capability to lead and motivate staff
  • Ability to respond to guest needs promptly

  • Must be able to perform physical tasks related to the job
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional guest service to all customers
  • Lead the team with motivation and direction and assure that all standards of quality are in place
  • Greet guests and accommodate all guests’ needs at events
  • Communicate effectively with guests regarding the menu
  • Deliver food and beverages from staging areas to guests as needed
  • Assist other servers during peak periods
  • Train others on serving plated and reception style meal services
  • Anticipate guest’s needs and monitor dining experience
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
  • Oversee setup, execution, and clean-up for events
  • Perform side work to prepare for upcoming events
  • Ensure all service areas are kept clean and safe
  • Maintain a professional and personable appearance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
