The position of Banquet Captain at Mountain Meadows Golf Course is a pivotal role focused on overseeing and executing banquet operations. The Banquet Captain is entrusted with ensuring that every event on the course is conducted flawlessly, with an emphasis on efficiency, professionalism, and outstanding guest service. This role involves managing the setup of banquet spaces, supervising banquet staff, and maintaining high standards of hospitality to guarantee all guests have an exceptional experience. The Banquet Captain acts as a key liaison between the event planning team and on-site service staff, ensuring alignment and smooth execution throughout all phases of banquet service.
In this leadership role, the Banquet Captain conducts pre-shift meetings to review event details, organizes staff roles, and directs the preparation and execution of services including meal courses and beverage delivery. Engaging directly with guests and event hosts, the Banquet Captain addresses needs, resolves any concerns, and ensures satisfaction. They maintain the cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, monitor inventory, and uphold compliance with safety and sanitation standards. The position demands a proactive approach to team management, including staff training, scheduling, and fostering a collaborative workplace atmosphere.
Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Banquet Captain must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively. The schedule may require flexibility with evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years in food and beverage service, catering, or banquet operations
- Leadership experience preferred
- Exceptional guest service skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Legal age requirements for alcohol service
- State-specific alcohol service certifications where applicable
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years in food and beverage service, catering, or banquet operations required

- Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service
- State-specific certifications required where applicable
Job Duties
- Review banquet event orders or event plans to ensure all setup, timing, and service requirements are understood and executed accurately
- Lead pre-shift briefings with banquet staff to review event details, roles, timelines, and safety standards
- Oversee setup of banquet rooms including tables, chairs, linens, décor, service stations, and AV as required
- Direct and assist with timely delivery of all meal courses and beverage service, adjusting staffing or process as needed to maintain smooth flow
- Interact with guests and event hosts to confirm needs are met, resolve issues, and deliver a high-quality hospitality experience
- Assign duties, manage shift schedules, and support efficient staff deployment throughout each event
- Train new and existing staff on service etiquette, guest engagement, and operational procedures
- Foster a positive, professional team environment built on clear communication and accountability
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and equipment condition before, during, and after events
- Monitor inventory of service equipment, furniture, and supplies
