The Assistant Banquet Captain role at HHM Hotels is a vital supervisory position within the banquet services department. This role assists the lead banquet staff during various assigned functions ensuring that all banquet help performs according to established guest service standards. The Assistant Banquet Captain plays an instrumental role in setting up banquet rooms, serving food and beverages, and leading staff under the direction of management to ensure seamless event execution. Compensation for this role is $28.00 per hour with both full-time and part-time opportunities available.

In addition to hands-on service duties, the Assistant Banquet Captain takes on a leadership position communicating with group representatives in the absence of management, coordinating banquet setups and changes, inspecting banquet areas post-event, and ensuring compliance with liquor control and safety regulations. Job Duties

  • Check banquet staff’s event orders to ensure that all information is accurate
  • Set up banquet room as instructed by management, and check room set-up to see that banquet event order directions are completely followed
  • Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet
  • Replenish beverages and food items as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction
  • Act as point of contact for group representatives when management is not present
  • Communicate all banquet event order changes to catering or convention services office and affected departments
  • Coordinate with banquet colleagues on set-ups, changes and time schedules for all functions
  • Inspect banquet areas at end of function to ensure all equipment is returned to its proper area and all areas are clean
  • Abide by all state, federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Help with management to ensure that proper liquor controls are in use
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
