Job Description
We are a prominent 374-room hotel situated on the scenic riverfront in downtown Augusta, Georgia. With over 100,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, our hotel stands as the premier destination for business travelers, weddings, meetings, family reunions, sports events, and numerous other special occasions. Our elegant and spacious facilities, coupled with attentive service, position us as a leading hospitality venue in Augusta, fostering memorable experiences for our guests. Our commitment to excellence and growth has led us to expand operations, reflecting our dedication to both customer satisfaction and employee development.
We are actively seeking dedicated Banquet Captains to join our vibrant team. In this key leadership role, Banquet Captains are responsible for overseeing the performance of hourly banquet food and beverage servers while serving as the personal representatives of our property to banquet event guests. This position demands a hands-on approach to coordinating every aspect of room and facility set-up, food, and beverage service to ensure ultimate guest satisfaction while maintaining brand standards and maximizing profitability.
As a Banquet Captain, you will lead and manage people and resources efficiently, conduct training sessions for team members, and maintain direct communication with guests to handle requests and billing. Your responsibilities extend to ensuring that food delivery and room setups exceed guest expectations, overseeing associate performance, and managing computer systems for event coordination and reporting. A crucial part of the role involves physical activity, as you will spend considerable time walking throughout the convention space during shifts, pushing and pulling carts, and handling tables and dishes that can weigh 30 pounds or more.
The ideal candidate is someone with prior leadership experience in a hospitality or banquet setting who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, a knack for conflict resolution, and the ability to lead by example are essential traits. You should be well-versed in computer systems relevant to hospitality management and capable of handling billing and generating reports for management. Collaboration is key to success in this role, as you will participate in daily meetings to discuss action plans and event setups.
We value team players who prioritize respect, safety, and accountability. Being well-groomed and professionally presented is a must, as you will represent our hotel brand to our esteemed guests. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional service, fostering a positive team environment, and growing in the hospitality industry, this position offers substantial opportunities for your career development.
