The Banquet Captain role at Great Wolf is pivotal to ensuring the seamless execution of banquets and event services. Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as a server
  • Must be flexible regarding scheduling based on business demands
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Able to bend, stretch and twist
  • Able to stand for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Lead, supervise and participate in banquet set-up including moving and setting tables and chairs, buffet and bar set-up, preparation of condiments and labeling stations
  • Assist Banquet Manager in administrative and personnel matters including scheduling, time clock reviews, overtime management, performance evaluation, discipline, investigations, and staff training
  • Read and interpret Banquet Event Orders and follow instructions from Banquet Manager
  • Facilitate and lead departmental meetings such as pre-meal and post-meal briefings
  • Act as point of contact for all banquet events, ensuring deep understanding of each function
  • Establish Order of Service and maintain service standards and event timing
  • Assign service stations to banquet servers to create balanced teams
  • Ensure completion of assigned side-work and pre-work for future events before leaving
  • Supervise and inspect post-function clean-up including floors, dishes, equipment and supplies
