The Banquet Captain at Biltmore Hotel plays a pivotal role in the success of banquet events by overseeing and supervising all banquet service staff before, during, and after each event. This role ensures that every banquet event order (BEO) is executed flawlessly to meet or exceed client expectations. The Banquet Captain is responsible for coordinating with multiple departments including catering, kitchen, and stewarding to deliver seamless meal service and maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces. The position demands adherence to the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP's) and requires a proactive and resourceful leader who can manage time efficiently, resolve issues calmly, and maintain high standards of service. This supervisory role is essential in upholding The Biltmore Hotel’s reputation as a leader in luxury event management. The Banquet Captain must be adaptable, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Additionally, the role involves managing the physical setup and teardown of equipment, maintaining uniform standards, generating financial documentation related to events, and ensuring guest satisfaction at all levels. This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • minimum two years administration experience in an upscale service operation
  • must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Report to work on time in proper uniform
  • prepare, organize and supervise all planned banquet functions in a timely manner
  • ensure service staff is in proper uniform in compliance with The Biltmore Employee Handbook
  • monitor efficiency, cleanliness and follow up with service standards
  • ensure all ballrooms and meeting rooms are set up according to BEO and Biltmore Standards
  • coordinate timing of the meal service with stewarding and kitchen staff
  • communicate with catering manager to finalize all details with the event
  • review the BEO with the service staff prior to the start of the event
