Job Description
We are a prominent 374-room hotel located in downtown Augusta, Georgia, featuring over 100,000 square feet of versatile meeting space along the scenic riverfront. Known as the premier destination in Augusta for business travelers, meetings, weddings, events, family reunions, sports events, and more, our establishment prides itself on delivering exceptional guest service and memorable experiences. Our hotel combines luxurious accommodations with comprehensive event facilities, making us a leader in the hospitality industry within the region. We are continually growing and seeking passionate individuals dedicated to excellence in hospitality to join our dynamic team.
The Banquet Captain role is a vital leadership position within our food and beverage department, responsible for overseeing the performance and coordination of hourly banquet food and beverage servers. As a Banquet Captain, you will be the personal representative of the hotel to banquet event guests, ensuring that all aspects of room and facility setup, as well as food and beverage service, meet the highest standards of guest satisfaction, brand consistency, and profitability. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
In this position, you will be tasked with setting up banquet spaces, leading and managing team members, training staff, coordinating with guests, managing billing and computer systems, and upholding safety standards. Physical fitness is important as the job requires walking throughout extensive convention areas, pushing and pulling carts and equipment, and managing items weighing at least 30 pounds. The role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to resolve conflicts professionally, and a commitment to fostering a safe and respectful work environment. Our Banquet Captains are expected to lead by example, ensuring their teams perform to expectations and consistently exceed guest expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in hospitality leadership and wants to grow their career in a supportive, professional setting.
