Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • One year experience as a bartender or bar back
  • Food handling certificate
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Be familiar with hotel services and local attractions to respond to inquiries
  • Resolve guest complaints ensuring satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with state liquor regulations
  • Operate POS and manual systems accurately
  • Manage assigned bank ensuring accuracy and security
  • Complete opening side duties including setup of bar unit
  • Greet guests and take orders
  • Receive cash or tickets before serving drinks
  • Prepare drink orders according to recipes
  • Provide club service for designated beverages
  • Serve drinks to guests
  • Collect drink tickets as specified
  • Issue, open and serve wine/champagne and collect payments
  • Remove soiled wares and maintain cleanliness
  • Communicate replenishment needs promptly to avoid shortages
  • Communicate last call and closing to guests and staff
  • Transport and breakdown bar units securely
  • Ensure maximum supply usage to meet budget
  • Use chemicals according to OSHA and hotel requirements
  • Complete closing side duties including counting bank and cleaning
  • Assist in other bar areas as assigned
