Members of Oak Hill Country Club enjoy access to premium facilities, professionally managed services, and a warm community atmosphere. The club prides itself on maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all members and guests. Established with a commitment to excellence, Oak Hill Country Club has built its reputation on providing distinguished service, first-class amenities, and a welcoming environment that meets the expectations of discerning clientele.
The position of Bartender at Oak Hill Country Club is a seasonal role within the Food & Beverage department and is pivotal in delivering exceptional beverage experiences to members and guests. Reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage and the Senior Banquet Manager, the Bartender plays an essential role in upholding the club's standards through expert mixology, prompt service, and attentive customer care. This role is classified as seasonal, with the expectation of working 40 to 60 hours per week, including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended hours during event weeks. The competitive wage offered is based on the individual's experience, reflecting the club's commitment to attracting skilled and dedicated professionals.
The Bartender is responsible for delivering superior beverage service through a comprehensive knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, bartending techniques, and Oak Hill's food and beverage standards. Preparation and serving of mixed and craft cocktails require mastery of mixology, while the ability to administer basic wine service enhances the overall guest experience. The role also demands a proactive approach to anticipating member needs, ensuring satisfaction, and effectively managing any special requests or concerns. Throughout each shift, the Bartender must adhere to club protocols by referencing Banquet Event Orders to tailor beverage service according to the specific event requirements. Attention to detail is crucial in managing bar inventory, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all bar areas are set up in compliance with established standards.
The position calls for exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with associates, guests, clients, and internal departments, fostering harmonious and professional relationships. The Bartender must consistently exhibit professionalism in appearance and conduct, aligning with Oak Hill's Acorns of Excellence and appearance standards. Technical skills include familiarity with the club's Point of Sales system (Jonas) and completion of pertinent paperwork related to event service and inventory management. Legal compliance with state and local laws, as well as club policies concerning alcoholic beverage service, is mandatory. The role also encourages ongoing learning by keeping abreast of industry trends and member preferences, sharing relevant insights with management to enhance service quality. Daily participation in pre-shift meetings, team discussions, and training sessions forms part of the commitment to continual improvement and team cohesion.
Physically, the job requires the ability to meet demands such as frequent lifting (up to 75 pounds), bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling. The work environment includes exposure to mechanical parts, weather conditions, humidity, and temperature extremes, necessitating resilience and safety awareness. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, food safety certification, and alcoholic beverage certification. Reliable transportation is essential due to the variability of the work schedule and location. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a renowned establishment while enhancing skills in a professional and dynamic setting that values service excellence and team collaboration.
