The Banquet Bartender position at River Roast represents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a lively setting renowned for quality service and guest satisfaction. This role is responsible for preparing and serving a wide variety of beverages to guests at the bar area in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. Offering a pay range between $20.00 and $25.00, the Banquet Bartender ensures that state, federal, and corporate regulations concerning alcohol service are strictly followed. The position involves setting up assigned bars, managing inventory by requisitioning and stocking all necessary supplies such as beer, wine, spirits, glassware, ice, and fresh fruits and vegetables. Maintaining high product quality standards through careful preparation, storage of perishables, and cleanliness of the bar area is paramount to delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Additional responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, processing orders accurately, mixing and garnishing drinks to standard recipes with prudence in portion control, verifying guest identification, and detecting any signs of inebriation in accordance with staff training and liquor laws compliance. The Banquet Bartender also oversees cash transactions, ensuring accuracy in monetary exchanges, charge validation, and proper voucher processing. Closing duties involve securing beverage products, food items, cash deposits, and equipment, as well as performing cleaning tasks to meet health and safety standards. Employees in this role contribute to maintaining an attractive bar environment by arranging bottles and glassware and ensuring sterilization of stemware to uphold hygiene standards. Beyond these essential tasks, the Banquet Bartender may perform other duties as assigned, always with a focus on excellent customer service and team collaboration.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to adhere to liquor regulations
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • prior bartending experience preferred
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • must be able to stand for long periods
  • ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system

Job Duties

  • adheres to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • sets up assigned bars
  • requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce
  • maintains stock, prepares, cures and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality
  • greets guests in a courteous, friendly manner
  • takes and/or processes orders for drinks
  • mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes
  • practices prudent portion control
  • checks guests at the bar for proper identification
  • detects and acts upon guest inebriation as trained
  • demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws
  • receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies validity of charges, records charges and ensures vouchers are properly executed
  • locks up and stores all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drops
  • secures bank
  • performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards
  • keeps work area clean and organized
  • arranges bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display in the bar area
  • washes and sterilizes stemware
  • performs other duties as assigned
