OVG is currently looking for a Banquet Bartender to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to the smooth execution of conventions, meetings, banquets, receptions, galas, and special events held across their venues. The Banquet Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while maintaining the highest standards of guest service. Working in a fast-paced event environment, the bartender must ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service practices, maintain cleanliness, and keep the work area organized. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $25.00 to $30.00 and includes part-time benefits such as 401(k) savings plan and matching.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with banquet captains, servers, culinary staff, and event leadership to guarantee seamless event execution. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience as a bartender in a hospitality or event setting
- valid alcohol service certification or willingness to obtain one upon hire
- ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to stand and walk for long periods
- ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks
- strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and sanitation practices
- capable of operating POS systems and handling cash accurately
- food handler certification is preferred
- must comply with all relevant health and safety regulations
- able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- willingness to engage with diverse clientele and maintain professionalism at all times
Job Qualifications
- previous bartending experience in hospitality, catering, restaurants, hotels, convention centers, stadiums, arenas, or banquet operations preferred
- knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktail preparation
- excellent guest service and communication skills
- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- ability to handle cash and operate POS systems when required
- alcohol service certification required or ability to obtain it upon hire
- food handler certification preferred
- flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based hours
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions
- ability to work in crowded and fast-paced event environments
- ability to transport beverage products, ice, and supplies as needed
Job Duties
- prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages according to event specifications and company standards
- deliver friendly, professional, and efficient service to guests during events
- set up and break down banquet bars, including stocking products, glassware, garnishes, and supplies
- verify guest age and monitor alcohol consumption in accordance with applicable laws and responsible beverage service guidelines
- accurately operate point-of-sale systems and process transactions when applicable
- maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas throughout events
- monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to supervisors and barbacks
- assist with inventory control and product accountability procedures
- work closely with banquet captains, servers, culinary staff, and event leadership to ensure seamless event execution
- respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns
- follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety standards
- assist with post-event cleanup and closing procedures
