The Banquet Bartender position at the InterContinental Indianapolis provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that sets the highest standards in hospitality. Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift push and pull objects up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work night weekend and holiday shifts
  • Compliance with local laws on food handling and alcohol service
  • Good grasp of reading writing and basic math
  • Warm welcoming and easy communication skills
  • Must be above minimum age required for alcohol service
  • Fluent in the local language

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Knowledge of drink recipes and beverage preparation
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately

Job Duties

  • Set up the bar area according to event specifications including arranging bottles glassware ice and supplies
  • Ensure the bar is clean organized and well-stocked before during and after events
  • Prepare garnishes mixes and other drink ingredients
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately following recipes and portion control
  • Provide friendly and professional service to guests addressing their needs promptly
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
  • Maintain accurate inventory of bar supplies and report shortages
  • Restock bar supplies as needed during events
  • Properly store and handle alcoholic beverages
  • Break down the bar area after events cleaning surfaces glassware and equipment
  • Return bar equipment and supplies to designated storage
  • Dispose of trash and recycling properly
  • Provide excellent customer service addressing guest inquiries professionally
  • Maintain positive and professional demeanor
  • Adhere to local and state liquor laws including verifying legal drinking age
  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding alcohol service
