The role of Banquet Bartender at The Proud Bird offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about guest service to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As part of this role, the bartender is responsible for mixing a wide range of drink recipes accurately and swiftly while minimizing waste. They serve drinks and food promptly and in a friendly manner to ensure complete guest satisfaction, observing guests for any needs and handling alcohol responsibly by following strict awareness procedures. The bartender is also tasked with maintaining supplies and inventory, operating point-of-sale systems efficiently, and adhering to company dress codes and grooming standards. This role demands a medium level of physical strength, with regular lifting, standing, and walking during the shift. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and a team player. Availability during weekends and the holiday season is required. Education preferred is a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years’ bartending experience or a similar role. Certification in food handling and responsible beverage service is mandatory. Job Duties

  • Possess a wide range of drink recipes and be able to mix drinks accurately, quickly, and without waste
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other beverages
  • Serve drinks and food to bar guests
  • Observe guests to respond to their needs and ensure total guest satisfaction by serving all items in a friendly and timely manner
  • Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication of guests and handling an intoxicated guest
  • Participate in and pass alcohol awareness and safety training classes
  • Stock and prepare garnishes for drinks
  • Maintain an adequate supply of ice, glasses, and other bar supplies
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining an inventory of liquor, mixes, and other bar supplies
  • Collect payment and operate P.O.S. computer quickly and efficiently
  • Balance and secure all moneys at the end of shift
  • Must be dressed neatly and well groomed in clean, company approved uniform at all times
  • Must be able to operate P.O.S. computer, make change correctly, and make credit card transactions
