The Banquet Bartender position at The Edgewater plays a pivotal role in ensuring all banquet guests receive timely and courteous beverage service. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old
  • Prior bartending experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50lbs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of liquors, beers and wine
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to use computer software
  • Ability to obtain any required government license or certificate

  • Ability to obtain government required license or certificate

  • Ability to use moderately complex computer software

Job Duties

  • Arrive at scheduled start time in appropriate uniform and ready to work
  • Report to Banquet Captain before starting and ending shifts
  • Read and understand all particulars of Banquet Event Orders including start time and beverage requirements
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar for each scheduled event/function including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting and storing fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality
  • Polish all glassware and maintain sanitation in and around the bar area
  • Greet guests courteously and promote, document orders for drinks, mix and present drinks using standard recipes with prudent portion control
  • Input orders into point of sale system and create checks for guests to maintain beverage accountability
  • Communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to Banquet Captain
  • Check identification to ensure alcohol is served only to guests of legal drinking age
  • Remove inventory and beverage equipment to proper storage after function
  • Retrieve and store bar glassware properly
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Banquet Captain or manager
  • Adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests
