The Banquet Bartender position at HHM Hotels is a vital role within their banquet services team, responsible for setting up, tending, and breaking down banquet bars in alignment with established guest service and sustainability standards. The bartender sets up portable bars appropriately, ensuring compliance with HHM Hotels’ stringent policies and procedures. Maintaining adherence to state, federal, and corporate alcohol serving laws is crucial, along with following cash handling policies and ensuring thorough cleanup after events.

This role demands a commitment to practicing safe work habits in line with OSHA standards while utilizing protective safety equipment. The position entails physical requirements such as standing for extended durations, walking, pushing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and other physical activities necessary for setting up and breaking down bar areas. In addition to hospitality skills, the Banquet Bartender position requires certifications including TIPS and Food Sanitation, with the latter to be obtained within 90 days of employment.

  • Previous bartending/banquet experience or equivalent training
  • TIPS Certification a plus

Job Duties

  • Check Banquet Event Orders to determine function, number of guests and type of bar (house, premium, cash, open, etc.)
  • Set up portable bar in function area according to standard policies and procedures
  • Follow established guidelines, policies and procedures regarding making beverages
  • Abide by state, federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Abide by HHM cash handling policies and procedures
  • Remove all trash and liquor glasses from tables, and remove tablecloths, trash and liquor from function area
  • Break down and clean bar thoroughly
  • Wipe surface areas and empty water in portable bar
  • Return all equipment and supplies to proper area
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
