The Banquet Bartender role at Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel is integral to maintaining the high standards of service that guests expect. This position is classified as non-exempt with an estimated pay range of $22.50 per hour. Reporting directly to the Director of Special Events, the Banquet Bartender will work in the dynamic Banquets Department, supporting a variety of events by preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and possess excellent customer service skills, ensuring each guest has a safe and memorable experience. Responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, taking drink orders promptly, and adhering to strict alcohol safety standards to promote responsible consumption. The bartender must also maintain a clean and organized bar area, manage inventory levels, and assist with bar setup and closing procedures.

In addition to technical bartending skills, this role demands strong communication and interpersonal abilities to handle diverse guest interactions with professionalism and courtesy. Candidates should have prior experience working as a bartender in similar high-energy settings and demonstrate knowledge of cocktail recipes, wines, beers, and spirits. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Valid bartending license if required by local laws
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 60lbs
  • Ability to bend stoop and reach
  • Must be at least the legal drinking age
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash and use POS systems

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a bartender in a fast-paced environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of cocktail recipes wine beer and spirits
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a busy environment
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and making change
  • Must have a valid bartending license if required by local laws and adhere to all state and local alcohol regulations
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including cocktails beer wine and spirits
  • Greet guests in a friendly courteous and professional manner
  • Take drink orders from guests and serve drinks promptly
  • Set up your bar station and clean up your bar station promptly
  • Ensure that all drinks are served according to established recipes and specifications
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area including cleaning glassware equipment and surfaces
  • Verify the age of customers to ensure they meet the legal drinking age
  • Monitor guests’ alcohol consumption and intervene as necessary to ensure responsible drinking
  • Keep track of inventory levels and report low stock or shortages to the Banquet/Events Manager
  • Assist with setting up the bar area for service including stocking supplies ice garnishes and glasses
  • Process customer payments accurately using the POS system and handle cash credit or debit transactions
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional and positive manner
  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth bar operations
  • Follow all safety sanitation and health regulations in accordance with local laws and company policies
  • Maintain knowledge of the menu including food items ingredients and preparation methods
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures as required
  • Attend training and meetings as necessary to stay informed about new products techniques and company policies
