Job Description

Shamin Hotels is a distinguished hospitality company with a rich entrepreneurial legacy dating back to 1978, founded by P. C. Amin and B. N. Shah. Beginning with the acquisition of a bankrupt hotel in Lumberton, North Carolina, the company evolved as a family-driven enterprise committed to excellence and rich guest experiences. Taking their namesake from the combination of Shah and Amin, Shamin Hotels has since grown into the largest hotel owner and operator in Virginia with over 70 hotels across multiple states. Their footprint stretches beyond state lines, representing a thriving portfolio and a strong reputation in the hospitality industry. Shamin Hotels is committed to fostering a welcoming culture and inclusive environment, inviting applicants from diverse backgrounds to join their expanding family.

The role of Bartender at Shamin Hotels falls under the Food and Beverage department and directly reports to the Bar Manager. This hourly, bi-weekly paid position plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest experiences during banquet services by expertly mixing and serving drinks. As a Banquet Bartender, the individual will be responsible for various duties including setting up the bar with all necessary supplies and products, ensuring a smooth service flow, accurately taking drink orders from guests and servers, and processing payments. Maintaining inventory and cleanliness of the bar area is critical, as is compliance with legal age requirements and company policies regarding alcohol service. Tasks include greeting guests warmly, promoting menu specials, assisting servers when needed, and performing quality checks to ensure guest satisfaction.

The bartender’s role extends beyond simple beverage service — they are ambassadors for Shamin Hotels, embodying the company’s core values of teaming up, taking ownership, and serving passionately. Bartenders will be trained to recognize and respond appropriately to potential intoxication or underage drinking situations with professionalism and care, reinforcing the hotel’s dedication to safety and guest welfare. The position demands attention to detail, a friendly disposition, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Working at Shamin Hotels offers tremendous career growth opportunities. With a portfolio of over 70 properties and ongoing expansion, employees have the chance to advance their careers within various facets of hotel operations, management, and development. The company takes pride in promoting from within and nurturing talent, making it an excellent place for individuals seeking to build a long-term career in hospitality. Whether you are an experienced bartender or seeking to start a rewarding career in the hospitality industry, Shamin Hotels provides an environment where enthusiasm and skill are recognized and rewarded. Join the Shamin Hotels team to be part of a dynamic, guest-focused organization that values teamwork, personal responsibility, and creating memorable experiences for guests.
