Job Requirements

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations regarding alcoholic beverage service
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service
  • Basic mathematical skills for cash register operation and transactions
  • Basic English writing skills
  • Manual dexterity including ability to use a knife, mix drinks and handle glassware
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English
  • Ability to apply written labeling and safety instructions
  • Ability to recall and promote menu items
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment
  • Physically able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing required

Job Qualifications

  • Current Food Handler Card
  • Knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and portion control
  • Basic English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers
  • Ability to use a knife and beverage equipment effectively
  • Ability to communicate and understand basic English
  • Ability to remember and promote menu items
  • Ability to operate coffee maker and similar equipment
  • Basic knowledge of product labeling and safety procedures

Job Duties

  • Serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner
  • Prepare beverages for other servers
  • Act as cashier for the lounge
  • Greet guests courteously and document drink orders
  • Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • Maintain proper bar setup including requisitioning and stocking supplies
  • Cut, stock and store fresh fruit, garnishes, juices and perishables daily
  • Receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record and balance vouchers
  • Lock up and store beverages, food and equipment, deposit cash drops and secure bank
  • Answer bar phone promptly and take room service orders accurately
  • Input orders into POS system and maintain accountability
  • Perform cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Follow safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Know fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • Use protective equipment as required
  • Report accidents, injuries and property damage
  • Maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
  • Assist other beverage personnel when needed
