We are currently seeking part-time Banquet & Events Servers to join our team at Butler University, located at 704 West Hampton Drive, Indianapolis, IN. This role is essential in delivering exceptional food service during catered functions, ensuring that all events run smoothly and efficiently. The position pays between $17.50 and $22.50 per hour, offering competitive wages within a unionized environment, complete with union pension and subsidized health insurance. The Banquet & Events Server will be involved in assembling and delivering food and supplies to event locations, setting up and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment throughout the events. Under the supervision of the catering captain, servers ensure the accurate execution of all aspects of the event during their shifts. This includes monitoring food temperatures, arranging tables and decorations, and collecting customer comment cards to improve service quality. Some roles may require driving a catering delivery truck. The role demands a keen attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining sanitation and safety standards. Job Duties

  • assemble and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to scheduled locations
  • log and maintain food temperatures
  • arrange tables and decorations
  • arrange buffet tables with food, beverage and service items according to standards
  • serve food and beverages to guests
  • thoroughly clean location after event is completed
  • return food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils to catering facility
  • distribute and collect customer comment cards for catered functions
  • stock, clean and maintain catering facility and equipment
  • ensure guests receive friendly, courteous service at all times
  • maintain in-depth knowledge of complete menu and products on hand
  • maintain clean and safe work environment
  • follow safety and sanitation policy and procedures at all times
  • perform other duties as assigned
