Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a similar hospitality role preferred
  • ability to work in a standard office environment
  • prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for 6 to 8 hours
  • occasional standing and walking
  • frequent fine motor skills use including typing and handling office equipment
  • ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • ability to lift or move items weighing 10 to 25 pounds
  • visual ability to read from screens and print materials
  • auditory ability to participate in conversations and meetings
  • willingness to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of reservation procedures and cancellation policies
  • working knowledge of front office systems
  • ability to handle cash accurately

Job Duties

  • greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
  • assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
  • promptly, accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
  • have complete working knowledge of front office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
  • accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
  • review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
  • have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to handle each
