This position is with a reputable hotel known for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences through attentive and professional service. This Front Desk position is crucial as it forms the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their entire stay by providing a warm welcome and facilitating smooth check-in and check-out processes. The Front Desk Agent plays a vital role in the daily operations of the hotel by greeting guests cordially and managing their reservations efficiently. Key responsibilities include promptly checking guests in and out, assisting with pre-registration and reservation blocking, handling all daily transactions accurately, and managing cash operations including accepting various forms of payment. Proficiency in the hotel’s Front Office computer or manual system is essential to ensure all transactions are processed correctly and efficiently. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of hotel rates, discounts, and applicable policies such as cancellations and relocations.
In addition to technical knowledge, the Front Desk Agent must embody a high work ethic and demonstrate self-initiative. Adaptability to varying work schedules is necessary as the position may require working nights, weekends, and holidays. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, along with strong teamwork skills, is fundamental to creating positive guest experiences. Physical demands include extended periods of sitting and computer work, occasional standing, walking, and manual tasks such as handling office equipment and lifting items weighing between 10 to 25 pounds. Job Requirements
- Ability to work in a standard office environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
- Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday
- Frequent use of fine motor skills for keyboarding, typing, using a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items
- Ability to lift and/or move 10-25 pounds as needed
- Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials with close focus and color differentiation
- Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings using phone and/or headset

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
- Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
- Promptly, accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
- Have complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
- Accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
- Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
- Have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to handle each
- Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, including how to take same day reservations
- Should be able to take reservations in approximately 2 minutes
- Know and follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary
