We are currently seeking a Grocery Clerk specializing in Bakery and Deli to join our frontline team. This role is vital in providing outstanding customer experiences by assisting shoppers with their bakery and deli needs, ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards. The position involves preparing bakery and deli items according to customer requests, offering product samples to introduce customers to new or special items, and effectively communicating current promotions and specials. The Grocery Clerk will operate bakery equipment such as ovens, slicers, refrigerators, and freezers to prepare and store products properly.

In addition to hands-on preparation, the role requires meticulous attention to food safety by monitoring product quality, checking sell-by dates, and maintaining temperature logs for refrigerated items. Accuracy in portion control is essential to minimize shrink while ensuring customer satisfaction. The Grocery Clerk will also support inventory management by packaging, labeling, and stocking products, as well as reporting discrepancies in ordering or shipping. This position provides opportunities to engage with customers by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized recommendations, which helps foster customer trust and loyalty.

Candidates should be willing to obtain a current food handler’s permit once employed, possess effective communication skills, basic math knowledge, and a strong customer service orientation. Previous experience in customer service, retail, or bakery/deli environments is highly desirable but not required.
