- Experience in bakery or deli is helpful
- Retail experience is a plus

Job Duties
- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates and take appropriate actions
- Properly use kitchen equipment including stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe
- Stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering or shipping discrepancies to department manager
- Understand store layout to locate products when requested
- Stay updated with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Gain and maintain knowledge of department products to assist customers
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions and report discrepancies
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance and notify management of repairs
- Report customer or employee accidents
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
- Provide assistance and support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
