Job Duties

  • prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about
  • inform customers of bakery and deli specials
  • provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
  • recommend deli or bakery items to customers
  • use equipment including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens according to guidelines
  • prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • adequately package, label and inventory ingredients
  • check product quality and review sell-by dates
  • label, stock and inventory merchandise
  • report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to manager
  • locate products upon customer request
  • stay current with ads and promotions
  • maintain knowledge of products to answer questions and make suggestions
  • ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers
  • create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated
