Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide fresh products with correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates
- Use kitchen equipment such as stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers properly
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies to department manager
- Locate products in the store upon customer requests
- Stay informed about current, future, seasonal, and special ads
- Maintain knowledge of products for responding to questions and making suggestions
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions and note discrepancies
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers with maintained logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and report repair needs
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents
