Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
  • Offer product samples to customers to introduce new items
  • Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
  • Provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs
  • Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • Check product quality for freshness and review sell by dates
  • Use kitchen equipment properly including stove, fryer, and steamer
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • Report ordering and shipping discrepancies to management
  • Locate products for customers within the store layout
  • Stay current with promotional ads and product knowledge
  • Maintain inventory and stocking conditions
  • Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers
  • Promote trust and respect among associates
  • Create a welcoming and appreciative environment for customers
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
