Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in grocery bakery or deli preferred
- Ability to operate bakery and deli equipment safely
- Strong customer service orientation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations

- Ability to lift moderate weights and stand for long periods

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and accurate portion sizes
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label, and inventory merchandise ingredients
- Check product quality and review sell-by dates
- Properly use kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering and shipping discrepancies to the manager
- Locate products within the store upon customer request
- Stay current with ads and promotions
- Maintain product knowledge to respond to inquiries
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues.
