Job Duties
- prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
- inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes
- recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines
- prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions
- measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes
- package, label, and inventory ingredients accurately
- check product quality and review sell by dates
- use kitchen equipment properly including stove, fryer, steamer, robotic coupe
- label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
- understand store layout and locate products for customers
- stay current with seasonal and special ads
- maintain knowledge of products sold and respond to customer inquiries
- monitor inventory and note discrepancies
- ensure proper temperatures in cases and maintain temperature logs
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create a welcoming environment for customers
- adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
- comply with safety procedures and notify management of unsafe conditions
- perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs needed
