Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in grocery or food service preferred
- ability to handle bakery and deli equipment
- strong interpersonal and communication skills

- capacity to follow detailed instructions and recipes
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
- ability to lift moderate weights as required

Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items using proper equipment
- offer product samples to customers
- inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- provide fresh products in correct portion sizes
- recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
- measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipe
- adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory merchandise
- check product quality and review sell by dates
- properly use kitchen equipment such as stove, fryer, and steamer
- label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering or shipping discrepancies
- understand store layout and locate products for customers
- stay current with seasonal and special ads
- maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries
- monitor inventory and note discrepancies
- ensure proper case and cooler temperatures and maintain logs
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create a welcoming environment for customers
- adhere to food safety regulations
- comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- inspect equipment and notify management of repair needs
