Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in bakery or deli preferred
- Understanding of food safety standards
- Ability to use bakery and deli equipment safely
- Strong customer service orientation
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions
- Physically able to stand for extended periods
- Able to lift moderate weights
- Flexible schedule availability

Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend deli or bakery items to ensure customers get desired products
- Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients in merchandise
- Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates
- Use kitchen equipment such as stove, fryer, steamer properly
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies
- Locate products when requested by customers
- Stay current with present and seasonal ads
- Maintain knowledge of department products and respond to customer questions
- Monitor inventory and note discrepancies
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report needed repairs
