We are currently seeking a dedicated Grocery Clerk specializing in Bakery and Deli to join our team. This role is essential in producing and preparing bakery and deli items that fulfill customer requests with precision and care. The Grocery Clerk will play a pivotal role in promoting products, managing inventory, and ensuring all food safety standards are strictly followed. By offering sample tastings, informing customers about specials, and making product recommendations, this position helps drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.

The role requires utilizing various bakery and deli equipment safely and effectively, including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, fryers, steamers, and other kitchen tools. Accurate preparation according to recipes and portion sizes is crucial to minimize shrinkage and maintain product quality. The ideal candidate is someone who maintains a strong knowledge base of all bakery and deli products and keeps abreast of ongoing promotions, seasonal products, and special offers in the store.

In addition to hands-on product preparation, the Grocery Clerk will monitor inventory levels, check product freshness against sell-by dates, and ensure proper labeling and packaging according to company guidelines. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and a safe environment within the department is a top priority. The clerk also supports the department manager by reporting any ordering or shipping discrepancies and identifying any maintenance needs for kitchen equipment.
