Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
- inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
- measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils
- package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality and review sell by dates
- properly use kitchen equipment including stoves, fryers, steamers, slicers, and scales
- label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
- locate products within the store for customers
- stay current with seasonal and promotional ads
- maintain knowledge of products sold in the department
- monitor inventory and note discrepancies
- ensure proper case and cooler temperatures are maintained
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create a welcoming environment for customers and answer product-related questions
- adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- inspect equipment and report repair needs
