Job Duties
- prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- offer product samples to customers
- inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
- recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
- follow cooking instructions and food temperature logs
- measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipe
- package, label, and inventory ingredients
- check product quality and freshness
- use kitchen equipment like stove, fryer, and steamer properly
- label and stock merchandise
- report ordering and shipping discrepancies
- understand store layout and locate products for customers
- stay informed on current and seasonal promotions
- maintain product knowledge to assist customers
- monitor inventory conditions and discrepancies
- ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers
- promote trust and respect among associates
- create a welcoming environment for customers
- adhere to all food safety regulations
- comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
