Job Duties

  • prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
  • offer product samples to customers
  • inform customers of bakery and deli specials
  • provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes
  • recommend deli or bakery items to customers
  • use bakery equipment including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
  • follow cooking instructions and food temperature logs
  • measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipe
  • package, label, and inventory ingredients
  • check product quality and freshness
  • use kitchen equipment like stove, fryer, and steamer properly
  • label and stock merchandise
  • report ordering and shipping discrepancies
  • understand store layout and locate products for customers
  • stay informed on current and seasonal promotions
  • maintain product knowledge to assist customers
  • monitor inventory conditions and discrepancies
  • ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers
  • promote trust and respect among associates
  • create a welcoming environment for customers
  • adhere to all food safety regulations
  • comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
