Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
  • Offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
  • Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
  • Provide correct portion sizes and fresh products to prevent shrink
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
  • Use bakery equipment including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
  • Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • Measure and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • Check product quality and review sell by dates
  • Use kitchen equipment such as stove, scale, fryer, and steamer properly
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • Report ordering or shipping discrepancies to management
  • Locate products in store when requested
  • Stay current with promotions and ads
  • Maintain knowledge of products to answer questions and suggest items
  • Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
  • Ensure proper temperatures and maintain logs
  • Promote trust and respect among associates
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of needed repairs
  • Report customer or employee accidents
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced environments
  • Manage conflict in a nonconfrontational manner

  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
