Job Duties
- Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment
- Offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide correct portion sizes and fresh products to prevent shrink
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- Use bakery equipment including refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- Check product quality and review sell by dates
- Use kitchen equipment such as stove, scale, fryer, and steamer properly
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
- Report ordering or shipping discrepancies to management
- Locate products in store when requested
- Stay current with promotions and ads
- Maintain knowledge of products to answer questions and suggest items
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- Ensure proper temperatures and maintain logs
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Inspect equipment and notify management of needed repairs
- Report customer or employee accidents
- Work cooperatively in high-paced environments
- Manage conflict in a nonconfrontational manner
- Act with honesty and integrity
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
