Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a bakery or deli setting
- Ability to use bakery and deli equipment safely
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Capable of multitasking in a busy environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a grocery bakery or deli preferred
- Knowledge of bakery and deli equipment operation
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and inventory
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes and preparation instructions
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Team player with a positive attitude
Job Duties
- Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- Recommend deli or bakery items to customers
- Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and cooking instructions
- Measure, prepare and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- Package, label and inventory ingredients
- Check product quality and review sell-by dates
- Properly use kitchen equipment such as stove, fryer and scale
- Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to manager
- Locate products upon customer request
- Stay current with seasonal and special ads
- Maintain knowledge of department products to respond to questions
- Monitor inventory and note discrepancies
- Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create a welcoming environment for customers
- Adhere to food safety regulations
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- Conduct preventive equipment maintenance and notify management of repairs needed
