Job Duties

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service
establish and maintain a safe and clean environment
assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals
monitor all established quality assurance standards
embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service
prepare bakery and deli items using proper equipment
offer product samples to help customers discover new products
inform customers of bakery and deli specials
provide fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
recommend deli or bakery items to customers
use bakery equipment according to guidelines
prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
measure and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients
check product quality and sell by dates
label, stock and inventory department merchandise
report product ordering and shipping discrepancies
help customers locate products
stay current with seasonal and special ads
maintain knowledge of products and answer questions
maintain inventory and proper temperatures in cases and coolers
promote trust and respect among associates
create welcoming environment for customers
adhere to food safety regulations
comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
practice preventive maintenance on equipment
notify management of accidents
work cooperatively in a high-paced environment
manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
act with honesty and integrity
follow directions and seek assistance
support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
perform essential functions with or without accommodation
