Job Duties

  • Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products
  • inform customers of bakery specials
  • provide customers with fresh products in the correct portion size to prevent shrink
  • recommend bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want
  • use all bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
  • prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
  • check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates
  • properly use kitchen equipment including stove, scale, fryer, steamer, and robot coupe
  • label, stock and inventory department merchandise
  • report product ordering or shipping discrepancies
  • understand the store layout to locate products for customers
  • stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • maintain knowledge of products sold and respond to customer questions
  • maintain inventory and stocking conditions and note discrepancies
  • ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs
  • promote trust and respect among associates
  • create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated
  • adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • display a positive attitude
  • perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
