Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to obtain food handler's permit after employment
Previous experience in food service or retail preferred but not required
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
Commitment to following food safety and company policies
Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
Offer product samples to help customers discover new products
Inform customers of bakery specials
Provide customers with fresh products in correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
Recommend bakery items to customers
Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
Prepare food according to temperature logs and follow cooking/baking instructions
Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes
Package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
Check product quality and review sell-by dates
Properly use kitchen equipment including stove, fryer, steamer, and computerized scale
Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies
Locate products for customers within the store
Monitor inventory and stocking conditions
Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and log them
Promote trust and respect among associates
Create a welcoming environment for customers and answer product questions
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
Display a positive attitude
Perform preventive maintenance and report repair needs
Notify management of accidents and illegal activities
