Job Duties

  • Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
  • inform customers of bakery specials
  • provide fresh products with the correct portion size to prevent shrink
  • recommend bakery items to customers
  • use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
  • prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions
  • measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipe using kitchen utensils and equipment
  • package, label, and inventory bakery ingredients and merchandise
  • check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates
  • label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • report ordering or shipping discrepancies to department manager
  • locate products requested by customers within the store layout
  • stay current with seasonal and special ads
  • maintain knowledge of products sold and respond to customer questions
  • monitor inventory and note any discrepancies
  • ensure proper temperatures and temperature logs are maintained
  • promote trust and respect among associates
  • create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions
  • adhere to food safety regulations
  • comply with safety programs and identify unsafe conditions
  • display a positive attitude
  • perform preventive maintenance on equipment
  • notify management of accidents or safety risks
