Job Duties

Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
offer product samples to customers to help them discover new items
inform customers of bakery specials
provide fresh products with the correct portion size to prevent shrink
recommend bakery items to customers
use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to company guidelines
prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions
measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipe using kitchen utensils and equipment
package, label, and inventory bakery ingredients and merchandise
check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell by dates
label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
report ordering or shipping discrepancies to department manager
locate products requested by customers within the store layout
stay current with seasonal and special ads
maintain knowledge of products sold and respond to customer questions
monitor inventory and note any discrepancies
ensure proper temperatures and temperature logs are maintained
promote trust and respect among associates
create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions
adhere to food safety regulations
comply with safety programs and identify unsafe conditions
display a positive attitude
perform preventive maintenance on equipment
notify management of accidents or safety risks
report illegal activities including robbery, theft, or fraud
