Job Duties
- Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
- offer product samples to customers to discover new items
- inform customers of bakery specials
- provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
- recommend bakery items to customers
- use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to guidelines
- prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions
- measure, prepare and mix ingredients per recipe using kitchen utensils
- package, label and inventory ingredients and merchandise
- check product quality and review sell by dates
- label, stock and inventory department merchandise
- report ordering or shipping discrepancies
- locate products requested by customers
- stay current with ads and promotions
- maintain knowledge of department products to respond to questions and make suggestions
- monitor inventory and stocking conditions
- ensure proper temperature maintenance and logging
- promote trust and respect among associates
