Job Duties

  • prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment
  • offer product samples to customers to help discover new items or products
  • inform customers of bakery specials
  • provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink
  • recommend bakery items to customers
  • use all bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, and ovens according to guidelines
  • prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions
  • measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients
  • check product quality to ensure freshness and review 'sell by' dates
  • properly use kitchen equipment including stove, computerized scale, fryer, steamer, robot coupe
  • label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
  • report product ordering/shipping discrepancies
  • understand the store layout to locate products for customers
  • stay current with seasonal and special ads
  • gain and maintain knowledge of department products
  • maintain awareness of inventory and note discrepancies
  • ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers
  • promote trust and respect among associates
  • create a welcoming environment for customers
